Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

Name Change

I currently have the time and the

money needed to change my first

name, so I want to do it now. my

question is can i use both name

concurrently? I don't want to go

through the hassle of changing all

my military records yet, but I want to

transfer over everything else.

Re: Name Change

You can use both names simultaneously for most purposes unless (a) the intent, or (b) the result of your use of both names is a fraud on someone.

Don't ask me who would object, or where you can't use the unofficial name; I don't know. I'd be sure to use your legal name on anything permanent, like a deed or an application for disability.

Otherwise, just avoid confusing anyone where the result might be an allegation of fraud or attempted fraud against you.
