Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

Filing a motion for continuance

I am a plaintiff in pro per. The defendant’s attorney refused to change the date of the deposition he has scheduled for me. I want to file a motion for a continuance asking the judge to change the date.

What forms do I need?

Thank you so much.

Re: Filing a motion for continuance

If you don't know the answer to this question, you have no business being a plaintiff in pro per. Hire a lawyer.

The other lawyer should have agreed to change the date. Document everything. Send him a letter saying that on such and such a date you asked his to change the date because of (your excuse) but he was unwilling to change it. That way, if you do not appear at the deposition and he files a motion to compel, you might possibly avoid having a monetary sanction imposed.
