Is there an implied renewal of contract in California?

We have an independent Contractor who was hired on for three months and that time has lapsed. Are we at risk?

With the exception of residential rental property which automatically renews for a month at the end of a term, there is no automatic renewal of a contract unless the contract itself provides for that.
