Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

When I got married I chose to change my name from: Katie Jean Brown to Katie Jean Brown-Hirose. After my marriage I went to the social security office and legally changed my name to the hyphenated version. Now 2 years later I want to drop the hypen and just take my married name (Katie Jean Hirose). Having the hyphenated name is in many ways a burden, and I want to simplify things for tax, dl, credit card, doctors office, etc. How do I got about removing the hyphen? Can I just go back to the social security office like I did before and change it? Or is it more complicated?

Since you can use any name(s) you want as long it is not for the purpose of committing fraud, you should be able just to go back to the Social Security Office. The one problem might be TSA which had said your ID had to match your birth certificate, but I do not thilnk they have gone that far.
