Release
Is a student not the schools responsibility once the student has left the school or unti the student arives home?

In what sense their responsibility? Probably not, as how can they be expected to be able to control the area the student passes through to get home. Can they ban the student from driving home in their own car; are they not limited to being able to control the school parking lot but not any area beyond it? The effects on the school budgets and the students' personally rights would be horrible if the school had to take responsibility until the student got home.
