Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

I signed a contract to have windows installed in my house 8-4-15. The company was supposed to come to my house with samples last Friday and to explain exactly what the installation would look like but they said they were not ready then or today as they promised. Can I cancel the contract now?

Without seeing the contract, it is impossible to say. What does the contract say about the starting and completion dates and how are those terms defined? If they are within those dates, it may not matter that they haven't shown you samples yet. You can always ask if they will let you out of the contract. Based on your question, they would probably be wise to let you out.
