Legal Question in Administrative Law in California
I work in HR and had an affair with an employee. I couldn't take the guilt anymore and sent a personal email to his wife. Can either of them sue me or get me fired?

Your company probably has rules against "improper" behavior that might effect the work performance of an employee. Certainly your ex-lover wil probably not work as efficiently than before. California is an at will state so you can be fired without need for any reason. You cna not be sued by the wife or husband as no cause of action for allienation of affection cause of action still exists in California.
