Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California

11357 b

i have just received a citation for a 11357B - possession of marijuana (25.8gs or less) and scheduled for a court date. I am aware of the $100 plus court charges fee but had heard rumors that you can get you license taken aways as well. Is this true? It was in Santa Anta, CA.

Not True Anymore. First of all, if you had had a medical certificate you could have avoided all of this and you could have even made the cops give you your MJ back.

I tell people to have fun with this type of case. You can plead no contest and pay maybe $250, and there are few consequences unless you want to work for the military or in law enforcement -- but who knows, there might be unanticipated consequences, it could be used against you in a child custody dispute or in some other manner you didn't expect.

You have nothing at all to lose by pleading not guilty and demanding a jury trial - there is no way you can get any greater punishment than the $100 fine, no possibility whatsoever of jail time, probation, or drivers' license suspension.

Please feel free to write or call.
