Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California

What are you allowed to do during discovery?

I am appealing my dismissal at a VA hospital in Loma Linda California. The Merit System Protection Board stated that I am to submit the forms and mentions a discovery phase, a term that I do not know what it means. Could you please inform me what is allowed in this process before an administrative judge.

Discovery means finding out (in formal methods) of what evidence the other side has or intends to rely on. Each side is entitled to discovery from the other. Usually it includes depositions, interrogatories (written questions), requests for production of documents, and written requests that a party admit or deny that something is true.

You normally have to exchange all appropriete documents that you wish to present at the hearing. I have handled numerous adminsitrative appeals, but each seems to have a different procedure.
