Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California

Hi, my boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 1/2 years now, but in about 4 days he will be turning 18 while I'll still be 15. Is there anything I can do in the state of California to allow us to still date? No sexual activity involved.

"Dating" by itself is not illegal. Any sexual activity is. If he does anything that could be seen as "contributing to the delinquency of a minor", such as keeping you out past curfew, skipping school, etc then he could be in trouble.

No sexting, no nude or suggestive photos (either way), etc.

I agree with Mr. Dane. The law forbids only sexual conduct between an adult and a minor. Non-sexual dating is legal, within the parameters Mr. Dane set. But note that your parents may be able to force you to stop seeing each other even if both of you want the relationship to continue.
