Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California
I have a family law atty on record that I want to keep on record, but i also need a (family law) appellate attorney on record. She (appellate atty) tells me my regular family law atty needs to sub out ( I dont want this as there is a current custody case happening) in order for her to sub in. But my ex has multiple atty's on record, so I don't get it. Wouldnt an FL-950 suffice for a limited scope: appeal?

There is no requirement that your superior court family law lawyer substitute out. This may be what the appellate lawyer wants as a condition of representation. Alternatively, it could be confusion as to the roles of each lawyer.
