I've filed my appellats opening brief, 28 days ago in California. Now I would like to augment the record, do i have recourse. Since the Respondent filed an extension and application to augment?

It is unusual to file a request to augment the record after filing your opening brief. You are not permitted to raise new issues in your reply brief. There is no absolute bar but the court may expect some explanation why you did not file the augmentation prior to or with your opening brief. It could be based on something raised by respondent that was unexpected.
