Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California
Hello,
I filed a small claims suit to get defendant to transfer security deposit to me. Defendant filed a counter suit claiming property management fees. I won the case, and now defendant filed an appeal. Will both claims be heard at the appeal hearing? Do I have to fight defendant claim's again or just defend mine?
Thank you.

You will have to present your case as though it was never heard before, but the judgment on the counter-claim can not be appealed. It will be a fast hearing so it helps to give the judge a written brief explainting the contentions and how you calculate the amount that should be paid to you.
