Superior Court, the archives are in the subbasement of the Hill St. courthouse and your documents have probably been chewed on by rodents. Other L.A. County courthouses have their own basements/attics.

You should be able to order your records from the Court; your problem is that you an not afford to fly down to look at those records. Why not contact one of the local law schools and see if they will let you post an ad for a law student to review the file and have the clerk copy the relevant documents or summarize they for you. Contact the Court to see what their procedure is; first find out if you can hire a law student to do the work.

I would at least get clarification from All American as to whether they checked LA's archives. If the file has been destroyed, the archives should be able to tell you. There is also a phone number for archives that can usually check this for you over the phone.
