Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California
personal property - dog attack
In Oct. 2005, my at the time, 10 week old puppy was mauled by a neighbor's pitbull. I took him to Small Claim's Court and the Judge Pro Tem that oversaw the case never asked to see any of my evidence, or allow my witness to speak. I got a letter in the mail saying that she found for the defendant. What legal standing do I have now? I am out over 600 dollars!

I'm afraid you lost. I can't tell why based upon what you have said.
Unsuccessful plaintiffs in Small Claims Court cannot appeal. Unless the defendant cross-claimed against you and won on the cross claim, this means the case is over.
Sorry I don't have better news for you.
