Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California

questionable judgement

Recently, we first won a case for $5000 in small claim court then lost in the appeal by defendant. Even though we understand the judgment is final, we strongly feel the judgment ordered by appeal court is unfair and questionable. Who we can write a letter to for getting our voice being heard? (Governor?) Can you request the case be reviewed? thank you

Re: questionable judgement

You can write to the governor if you want, but nothing you can do will get your case re-heard. When you originally filed your lawsuit you had the option of either using the superior court or the small claims court. Each has advantages and disadvantages. One of the disadvantages of small claims court is that the plaintiff cannot appeal an adverse judgment. The risk you took turned out badly for you, but you are stuck with the decision you made.
