Is there a statute of limitations for filing an appeal for a civil unlimited case, and if so, how long after the jury verdict does the appeal need to be filed?

60 days after entry of judgment, which is not the same as the date of the jury verdict. You have 15 days to file a motion for a new trial, which you might be well avised to do before attempting an appeal. Computing these strict time deadlines is complicated, as are new trial motions and appeals. Consult your attorney.
