Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California
Therese -
My girlfriend has an 19-year old daughter who has been on drugs, and has recently become verbally abusive towards her mother, has become violent, and is looking for that next high. She would like to have her leave the home, but has been told that she needs to use the 30-day eviction notice process. I've been reading that she should be able to use the " gratuitous guest " rule, in that her daughter has only been at the residence less than a few weeks, and her daughter pays no rent for room and board. Nor does she provide anything in return.
Guidance and direction would be greatly appreciated !!

If she has been there for under 30 days, a 2 week notice is usually sufficient for people that pay rent. However, this person pays no rent? They don't get a 30 day notice.
