time for satisfaction of appeal jdgmt
Defendants lost original small claims case. Appealed, and lost again. Do they have 30 days in which to satisfy this judgment, or how long so they have. Also, can I file a memorandum or anything to seek interest and/or additional costs, if required, for collection (if they end up not paying in time). One last thing, they are a large corporation in California, what would be a good collection tactic against them?

A judgment is valid for 10 years and can be renewed. While you may enforce a judgment through a Court, there is no voluntary requirement for the judgment to be paid. An appealed small claims judgment is final. Interest accrues at 10 per cent per year from date the judgment was entered, plus you get costs. If you want to hassle them, it will cost you some up front money, but get a keeper installed in their business to collect your judgment. You can also record an abstract of judgment against their real property, and you can record a lien against all of their personal property by filing the judgment in Sacramento with the sec. state.
