Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California
work supposed to cover hospital bill
Hi, my friend has asthma and in oct 2007 there where fires around our city. All the businesses except hers closed because of the fires and smoke. Smoke filled the store and she started having trouble breathing and started feeling nauseous. She told the manager she wanted to go home because she didnt feel good and they wouldnt let her, she went on break a few minutes in the break room and almost passed out. She told the manager again that she wanted to go home and they said no again. Then they saw her almost pass out and called the ambulance. The paramedics were going to treat her but she denied the med attention as she had no med insurance. The manager that called the ambulance said the company would pay for it. Her sister also came to help her. She acepted the attention and went to the hospital. Now the company denied paying her med/hospital bill and she was denied workers comp because she had ''asthma''already. She submitted an appeal but never heard a reply. What can she do? can someone please help us?

Re: work supposed to cover hospital bill
Who denied her workers' comp? A Workers' Compensation Judge? And her attorney appealed it and never heard back?? Hard to believe.
