Legal Question in Banking Law in California
On 4 occiasions I have sent checks (from $250 to $1000) to my mortgage company specifiing "apply to principal". Each time they apply it to another account. I have to call them up and tell them to fix it everytime. They are NOT applying to the date that they cashed the check. It's obvious I'm losing money. Is this a legal practice?
