Legal Question in Banking Law in California

I have been given bad or fraudulent checks from the same party. What can I do to collect ? Also they were sent from our of state by mail. Is this Interstate fraud?

Is this a real person for whom you have identifying information, or is this some stranger from the internet? If you know for sure who and where they are, sue and/or call the police.
