Can a bank cash a check over 2 years old

The bank doesn't have to cash your checks that are over 6 months old, but under UCC � 4-404 they can if they want to, and they can charge your account for the amount of the item.
No human eyes ever view the checks, let alone the dates on the checks, as they are processed by the bank's computerized machines. So you could write any dates on your checks and they would probably be honored.
