banking error
i noticed $3000.00 extra in my savings account, dont know where it came from. can i keep the money? is there a statute of limitations? what should i do?

You should carefully review your statements and reconcile them with your checks. The $3000 did just magically appear. The two most likely possibilities are that your bank gave you to much credit for a deposit or you have an outstanding check that hans't been cashed.
If the bank gave you too much credit for a deposit, the money doesn't belong to you. Banks will often debit your account immediately upon discovering the error. If you spend the money, you would owe it to the bank. This is why it is important to review the accuracy of your statements on a monthly basis.
