Legal Question in Banking Law in California
Certificate Deposits Withdrawal
A few months ago, I opened a Certificate of Deposit (CD) with a bank using my expired California ID and Visa. Now that the CD has matured, the bank refused to let me withdraw the money on the grounds that I have an expired California ID as part of my idenitification. How can the bank withhold my withdrawal? I am still the same person with the expired California ID. Please advise my rights.

Rather than trying to cause trouble or press the issue, just renew the California ID or get some other form of acceptable ID such as a passport.
