Legal Question in Banking Law in California
I need to change custodian on a CUTMA account left to my grandson. My mother who is deceased was the custodian on the account. My mother passed away in 2015. My grandson is now 18 years old. The bank says a change in custodian is needed to release funds to myself or my grandson. I submitted "Affidavit for Collection of Personal Property, California Probate Code Section 13100" as recommended by the clerk. the total the account is less than $9,000. The bank says the Affidavit is not sufficient to release the funds. Any advice or direction to which California form I need to submit to the bank is greatly appreciated to help me change the custodian

You need to find out from the bank what they will accept. Even if it may be more than is required by law, you're better off and will have an easier time just working with the bank than taking a legal stand.
