Legal Question in Banking Law in California
If someone was having their check direct deposited into my personal banking account, then we stop being friends and I tell her to stop the direct deposit and she doesnt stop it, can I legally keep the money, I have repeatedly told her to stop the direct deposit,

You can't keep money that isn't yours. Why does this arrangement exist, anyway? Are you helping her defraud her creditors? I would write to her and tell her from now on there will be a $50 service charge per check. Wait one pay cycle. Then from now on, mail her a check for the amount minus $50. Do not cash the check for her.
