Legal Question in Banking Law in California
Collection
I worked for a bank, whom, 3 years ago fired me saying that I took money out of people's accounts. It is now 3 years later and I just got a collection notice in the mail saying that I owe them money for this. Can they do that? Do I have any recourse?

Re: Collection
If the bank has not yet filed a lawsuit against you, it probably has up to 4 years to file one from the date of the last incident. Also, the District Attorney probably has up to 4 years to file criminal charges against you. If you did not report the extra income to the IRS, then the statute of limitations is even longer for tax evasion.
