Legal Question in Banking Law in California
Free Check
I recently received a check made out to me in the amount of $3000.00 , which was UPS to me overnight, there is no letter or documentation stating who it is from. The check is a business check from a company that I have never visited. If I cashed it would there be any legal ramifications. The check is real and from out of state.

Re: Free Check
Real, how do you know? It is B O G U S. There is no free lunch. You could have your bank attempt to verify it, but do not cash it, and if you do cash it, wait at least two weeks even if your bank says funds are available.
