Legal Question in Banking Law in California
If I have a lot of money invested in a mutual fund that my dad has control over and its in my name, how would I go about getting my money?

Depends on how old you are, and how the account is titled.
If it is in your name, how does your father have control over it? That does not make sense.
What do you mean "in your name?" What do you mean "dad has control." Hire an attorney, have the attorney contact the broker or investment company, and have them transfer your money into an account. Have an attorney in case a dispute arises as to whose money is whose. Contact my office if you want help.
