Legal Question in Banking Law in California
Is offshore internet gambling legal? I listen to ESPN everyday on Saturdays they will have guys go on the radios and tell me how I can make great $ legal gambling. It seemed legit, ESPN allowed the show the offshore sites were no secret sight, so I did it. I got to betting and made some money. Today I told a buddy at work what I'm doing he told me I'm breaking the law. Now I don't know what to do I want to cash out and be done, I want to be honest and pay what taxes I owe, I had no idea it was illlegal that was one of the first questions I asked. I called again my sports advisor and he states it's completely legal. I'm skeptical and worried now. What do i do?

First of all, why are you getting your legal advice from buddies and sports advisors? And why are you looking at gambling as some kind of investment opportunity?? No individual online gambler has ever been prosecuted, but who's to say it won't happen?
