Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
I have $35,000 of medical bills, (all being from hospitals) in collections right now. and i have $1,200 in Credit card dept, also in collections. my fico is horrible right now, i want my credit to be excellent so that i may buy a nice car, and possibly a house in a couple years.
what are my options? should i just pay these medical collection bills monthly?, or file chapter 7 and get credit repair?
thanks,

This is a personal choice, not a legal one. The bankruptcy option is open to you. If you wish to pay and improve your credit, the hospitals might be willing to negotiate with you if your income is limited. The same thing with the credit card issuer. Credit repair probably won't be of assistance, since you only have one credit card debt of fairly recent vintage, with a relatively small balance.
