Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
My 69 year old brother in California was arrested in May and will likely serve 10-12 years in prison. My sister is his POA. He needs to file Chpt 7. He has no home,car, or assests. Can a lawyer in Illonois (where my sister and I live) handle this or must we get an attorney in California? How will it work since he cannot appear in person in bankruptcy court? Thank you.
