Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Alimony and Bankruptcy
I have an outstanding alimony of $15000.
I am currently remarried.
I have asked for modification, without success.
If I get divorced from my current wife and file bankruptcy, will that erase the alimony?
Many thanks!

Re: Alimony and Bankruptcy
I'm not sure what getting divorced has to do with anything, but no, alimony obligations are not dischargeable in bankruptcy.
