Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Amended creditor

I owned many properties in Utah, then the market went south. All properties were put up for sale, and I moved to California. They were all eventually foreclosed. I filed BK January 2001. My discharge hearing is July 3rd. Among the creditors listed were all the utility companies. I've discovered that a couple of the houses weren't auctioned by the date on the Notice sent to me. A couple of the utility companies want to collect utilities that were incurred after my filing date. I'm not sure the houses were auctioned according to the schedule sent me. What do I do now? Do I file an amended creditors list, and ask the judge to discharge the additional utilities charges since I didn't think I still owned the homes? Or are those additional charges covered since those utilities were listed on the original filing?

Re: Amended creditor

First of all, I've never heard of a discharge hearing in a Ch. 7 case, so you might want to double check that. In any event, debts that are incurred after the filing of the bankruptcy are not covered by the bankruptcy and you will be responsible for paying them. Amending won't change your filing date, unfortunately.
