Amount of Discharge
How much does an individual have to owe before they can file for bankruptcy (Over or under $7000.00)and can an individual do the paperwork themselves if they cannot aford an attorney?

You're asking an attorney whether you should not go to an attorney? It's always advisable to seek legal counsel. Many situations can be complicated or tricky, and seeking an attorney's direction or advice would be prudent. Good luck to you. There are many self-help books, although I wouldn't recommend that you proceed in that manner.
