Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
getting $ back from a company who has gone bankrupt
My family and I all purchased pagers and cell phones from a local compay. It has announced that it has declared bankruptcy and our services will be terminated tomarrow. Most of us have several years left on our service and one person signed up for lifetime. We do not have the money to start from scratch at another pager compay. How can we get our money back from this company so we can afford to subscribe to another? Especially the person who has lifetime, that was multiple hundreds of dollars!

getting $ back...
Well, whether you get money back depends on a number of factors, including what chapter they filed under, what liquid assets the company has and so forth. The chances of you recovering money are, unfortunately, slim. If you wish to preserve your rights, you should follow the instructions on any notices you get from the Court or enlist the services of a competent attorney in your area. I am in Los ANgeles.
