Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

bancruptcy and my credit report

I had gone to a parallegal and prepared all the documentation for bancruptcy.When my court day arrived, I did not go. I decided I did not want to file.I decided to order my trw and found that a bancruptcy was still on my trw showing as dismissed. Not only is the bancruptcy on my trw now but so is all my bad debt still. I am constently turned down for credit because of the bancruptcy, but never actually filed in court. How can I clear this up?
