I am suing several defendants one of which his filed for Chapter 7 BK in another state. Is there anything that I need to do and how will this affect my lawsuit going forward.

Re: Bankrupt Defendant
Depending on the nature of your lawsuit, you can petition the bankruptcy court for relief from stay. In any case, you have to notify the trial court that any action regarding that defendant is stayed. Depending upon that person's culpability, you might ask to bifurcate the case to try it against everyone else.
