I need to know how much does it approximately cost to hire a bankruptcy lawyer, and if it is necessary to hire one at all?

Re: Bankruptcy

If you want to do it right, it's advisable to have a lawyer in your corner, especially if you have real estate and/or tax issues. However, many people do BKs without attorneys.

Rates vary and are largely unregulated as long as they are within reason. Make sure the person you retain to do the work is actually an attorney and not a document preparation service. Those services make no decisions for you and can't give you legal advice.
