Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Bankruptcy & Child Support Arrears
If Child Support arrears are filed in a Chapter 13 case, and no interest is disclosed by the District Attorney and the individual filing is not aware of any interest, can the District Attorney's office continue to accrue interest throughout the Bankruptcy case and send a notice of Interest due after the Bankruptcy is paid off and collect that interest? Should the Bankruptcy lawyer on this case handle the correspondence with the District Attorney?
