Yes, that is a dischargeable debt if you owe it.

If you are his legal guardian, and legally responsible for his obligations (in the medical world, this generally means you are the medical insurance policy holder for your family), then you should be able to discharge them. You will want to verify this with a bankruptcy attorney in your area pre-filing. Also, the child's mother may have to file as well, because you are generally both held to be jointly liable for his medical expenses.
