Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Bankruptcy Credit report

We filed Chapter 7 in california in 1991 an discharged in 1992. We were under the impression that it would remain on our credit report for 7 years. However we are told that it is now 10 years. Were there different laws in effect for that time and were we grandfathered in. Thank you for time and expertise.

I'm sorry. I didn't fully read your question. Yes, the laws did change after you filed your bankruptcy case and the new law is what is applicable regardless of when your case was filed.
