Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Bankruptcy and Eviction Records

This might be a stupid question, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere, does a chapter 7 bankruptcy remove an old eviction record (not a current case) when it is dismissed?

Re: Bankruptcy and Eviction Records

Your question as stated doesn't really make sense. Bankruptcy, assuming you are successful, discharges your obligation to make payments on certain debts. It doesn't remove records.

No. A discharge in bankruptcy will eliminate most monetary debt -- but not the record of the debt (or in this case, the eviction). A dismissal (as you state in your question) means that a discharge was never granted. At any rate, bankruptcy doesn't "remove" records.
