bankruptcy filed by individual and his list debtors

how can i find out if a person oweing me money filed for bankruptcy and if i am named as a debitor? and is there a statue of limitations on a promissary note?

You would be named as a "creditor." If it's a promissory note without any security, it would be discharged in BK. You can go to the BK courthouse and type in the person's name in the computer. Or, if you wish, you could e-mail me the details privately and I'll see if a BK was filed. I would need the locale where that person lives (i.e. LA, Santa Barbara, etc.). Thanks.
