Bankruptcy filing question

I filed in California for bankruptcy in Dec. 2000 and received a discharge in Mar. 2001, how long would I have to wait to file for bankruptcy a second time, is it six or seven years?

Sadly eight (8), however you may be able to file a Chapter 13 and obtain similar results.
