Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
bankruptcy law contempt
I have filed for bankruptcy chapter 7. I have already had my meeting of creditors with the court trustee and no one showed up. I have since received harassing phone calls from several creditors on a constant basis. these calls have been to my job and home day, nite, morning and weekendand (One) notifying my employer of non payment and my bankruptcy. The threats of confiscating my property and to my employer have caused great stress to myself, wife and children this action is making me ill, nervous and my family afraid to answer the phone. On each occasion of these harassing calls I have extended every courtesy, and advised them not to call me at work and gave them my lawyer's phone number and the BK case number and verified that they were on the list credits. Any and every advise you can supply will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Re: bankruptcy law contempt
Have your lawyer immediately write them a letter demanding they stop calling. If that doesn't work, have him file a complaint for contempt.
