If you received a chapter 7 discharge, you cannot do another chapter 7 until 8 years have passed since the filing date of the prior chapter 7. Please consult a bankruptcy attorney in your location to explore further options, such as a chapter 13 bankruptcy. You may also consult our Web site FAQs for general information.
