Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
bankruptcy - married, but filing B.R. as a lone individual
My husband is a diabetic and has incurred many financial (medical) bills. He has recently moved here from Nevada and is not working yet, he has no medical insurance. He wants to file bankruptcy - I do not and my question is, can he file as an indivdual, even though we are married. When my mom passed away in Jan 1998, I had t file Bankruptcy so my filing of course is not possible, nor would I want to - as I am working hard to re-establish my credit worthiness. I just need to know if my husband can file on his own, even though we re now married. Thank you very, very much for your great web site.
