Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
Bankruptcy vs. Power-of-Attorney
Can I, as Power-of-Attorney for my incapacitated mother, file Bankruptcy? If not, what title must I hold to file Chapter 7? FYI-My mother is unable to understand questions, respond to questions, or sign her name. Thank you.

Re: Bankruptcy vs. Power-of-Attorney
I would have to research this issue, but my educated guess tells me that a power of attorney would be insufficient but that a guardianship or conservatorship would probably be OK. If you would like me to research the issue further, please give me a call and we can discuss the situation.
